Interested in firefighting's role in the city’s day-to-day emergencies, Alona Rodeh joined the fire brigade on their 24-hour shifts as an artist-in-residence for about a year. Performed by individual members of the Berlin Fire Brigade, the short film is a non-narrative and somewhat abstract visual collage of portraits of firefighters and their gear in action, shedding light on the firefighter’s work, including long periods of anticipation and non-doing. The shooting was done in various fire stations in Berlin, and there were additional scenes at the Jaffa fire station in Tel Aviv.
