2015
MDF, aluminum, 240x240x260cm, multi-channel sound system
The work was conceived on the occasion of The Crystal Palace and the Temple of Doom, a group show curated by Hila Cohen Schneiderman at the Petach Tikva Museum of Art. In the museum's main hall, Rodeh installed a monumental surrealist comment on the Israeli Iron Dome defense system. In addition, Rodeh connected the museum’s three main halls with a surround system of loudspeakers that functioned as a temporary public announcement system. Every 18 minutes, a burst of sirens was heard through the rooms, quickly turning into a musical track and cut short at their apex. The soundtracks can be heard here.
Execution: Didi Alon
Original music: Harel Schreiber (Muledriver)
Documentation: Michal Baror
