According to various testimonies, the biblical altar had four prominent horns, considered the most sacred part of the temple. Holding onto the altar's horns was a refuge for an accidental murderer in danger of blood revenge. Until receiving a fair trial, one could find sanctuary in the altar's horns. In computer games, an altar is often the holy grail, marking a critical moment in time and space. In this short CGI animation film, iterations of altars made of sand are washed away by the sea. Sea waves knock the structures down slowly until they dissolve into the sand, and a new one emerges. All 3D models follow the shapes of existing altars from ancient histories.
